The NARA Scholarship Initiative hits new high.

NO DONATION TO THE NARA SCHOLARSHIP INITIATIVE IS TOO BIG, TOO LITTLE OR TOO LATE.

The National Aircraft Resale Association (NARA) sends a very special thank you to our Business Aviation Scholarship fund donors. And a reminder to anyone looking for a worthwhile cause to make a contribution before the end of the year. There’s still time to help give young people an opportunity to be involved in one of the most exciting industries they might not have pursued otherwise.

Thanks to the generosity of NARA Members, their friends and clients, we have raised more than $72.000 so far this year and are well-positioned for a final year-end push towards our ultimate goal of $100,000.

Whether you are in the aviation business or use it to help make your business successful, you can further the professionalism of the industry and help kids get the education they need to succeed in aviation by adding your name to our list of extraordinary donors.

Most of the $72,000 raised to date came from a one-time event held at the 2016 NBAA-BACE in Orlando. NARA Chair Johnny Foster volunteered to have his head and beard shaved – responding to a colleague’s challenge and generating widespread industry interest in the scholarship.

According to Johnny, “The “ScholarShave” started out as a joke earlier this year at our annual meeting when the evening auction of donated items suddenly turned into how much would members donate for me to shave off my full beard. Then one of our members said he would donate $10,000, if I would shave my head as well as my beard. That is when we realized we might have something special here and it became a full-fledged fundraiser for a great cause to raise money for the NARA Business Aviation scholarship fund.”

The NARA Business Aviation Scholarship program was established several years ago to benefit university students seeking a career in Business Aviation, within the corporate aircraft Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal and Insurance community.

Scholarship winners are chosen from among applicants that are full-time graduate and undergraduate students majoring in Corporate Aviation Management, Aerodynamics, Aircraft Systems, Aviation Safety, Finance, Business Marketing, Economics and/or studies that relate to Aviation Business and Management. The NARA Business Aviation Scholarship was created specifically to help these enterprising students with the significant hurdle of college tuition.
