NARA to Host Keynote Speakers During Annual Meeting

The National Aircraft Resale Association (NARA) will hold its annual fall Membership Meeting on Monday, October 29, 2012, at The Peabody hotel in Orlando, Fla. The association’s featured guest speakers will be Carey Matthews, General Manager of Shanghai Hawker Pacific Business Aviation Service Center, and Robert Wilson, President of Business & General Aviation with Honeywell Aerospace.

Matthews will discuss the anticipated growth of business aviation in China over the next decade and the nuances of import/export requirements in China, particularly the importation of aircraft into the country.  Wilson will present highlights of the much-anticipated Honeywell Aerospace Business Aviation Outlook. Widely regarded for more than two decades as the most reliable forecast for the business aviation market, the outlook and the purchase expectations survey summarized each year are a snapshot of expected business aircraft sales at a point in time and reflect fleet operators’ views of current events, such as political and economic conditions, fuel costs and changes in regulations, taxes and user fees that would affect expected sales in the near term.

NARA Chairman Paul Kirby, Managing Partner of Cerretani Aviation, LLC, says, “Given the  challenges we continue to face in the pre-owned aircraft marketplace and the world economy in general, the NARA membership is looking forward to hearing from these companies about their observations on the current global business climate and their opinions of where the pre-owned aircraft market opportunities exist for members and our respective customers.”

In addition to the Keynote speakers, the member meeting will include open forum discussions on important industry issues including pre-owned market conditions, finance, maintenance and insurance. Members will also have the opportunity to tour Embraer’s new global headquarters in Melbourne, Fla. The meeting will conclude with a NARA networking reception hosted in conjunction with NAFA, the National Aircraft Finance Association.
